Frizzy Hair, Bye Bye While Traveling on the Ocean

I recently took a cruise to Hawaii and Vancouver. The Vancouver leg took 5 days across the ocean. My hair has a tendancy to be frizzy when the air has high humidity. The humidity on this trip was 82% most days

My hair was wild during the first few days. It looked crazy frizzy and stuck out all over.

I noticed it was looking this way due to the ocean breezes and humidity. It is not a look I like; I prefer a calmer natural hair look.

Wild an frizzy hair

I remembered reading what Beautycounter CEO Gregg Renfrew said about items she would want on a desert island. One of them was Cleansing Balm. I decided to use it on my hair, as a leave-in conditioner.

The first day, I goofed. I put it on front-to-back. The result was an oilier look than I liked. My hair was calmer though, so I knew I was on the right track. Also, I figured out that it took VERY LITTLE PRODUCT to calm my hair.

The next day, taking a very small 1/2 pea sized amount in my palm, I rubbed my hands together, then starting at the back, and running my hands and fingers through my hair toward the front, I combed the product into my hair. The result was smoother, calmer hair, that was not frizzy or fuzzy.

Here is the amount of product I use to condition my hair. It is slight more than I use for my face.

This is about 1/2 the size of a pea
I rub the product so it is spread out over my palm

I decided to show you using video how I applied the balm to my hair.

Three strokes, back from the bottom, sides from the bottom, front from the sides

The video shows the steps 1-2-3. I usually run my fingers through the back three times before I come to the sides. I do the sides three times, then the top front. I am not adding any more product. Just the small amount you see in the pictures.

This is now my absolute favorite product. It comes in a travel size too. I am a Beautycounter consultant and I invite you to try Cleansing Balm on your hair (and your face).
