Passwords: How much is your time worth?

Passwords and their management can take a great deal of time.

  • Creating and saving
  • Changing and updating some list
  • Finding one for a place that is rarely visited
  • Making sure it is secure enough
  • Understanding the hierarchy of secure passwords

Wouldn’t it be better to have that time back? Would it be safe to say your time is worth more than the cost of a Password Manager?

I was using a free program for the safekeeping of my passwords and I failed to realize that for a few dollars a year, I could save the time it took to use this free program. AND lately…my time is becoming more valuable than the cost savings of using a free one.

I recently signed up for Roboform. Why this one and not another? 2 very important reasons.

  1. I saw the features and how robust it is from a friend’s ongoing use of it.
  2. I saw the features will allow me to manage and maintain my online passwords without spending extra time.

The features include saving and securing my identification information. I will be able to populate websites with my name, address and phone without keyboard interaction.

Another feature I was happy to see is the integration across devices. I can have it on my phone, another computer or device. No more copying a program and using that on any other device. Compatibility is an important feature.

As a security advisor and consultant, I can truly recommend this for clients concerned about remembering passwords or worried about having them compromised.
