I am looking forward to next year as District Director
On May 16th, 2020 the election will be held and the leadership of District 52 will be decided.
On May 9th, the candidates were interviewed at the candidates showcase. We all answered questions, Table Topic Style. The one question asked of the Division Directors, that was not asked of me was “Why do you want to be District Director”?
My why is simple. Because I would like to be in a position to help clubs restore after COVID-19; rebuilding the clubs and membership in the new normal. I understand how this has affected all of the clubs. I want to be in a position to help and encourage.
Also, the team of volunteers that will make up the Trio is committed to this already looking out for the best solutions.
“CARE WITHOUT COMPROMISE”
There are a few things I would love you to know about me and my plans for District 52.
The individual clubs in District 52 will have direct access to me and I will share the knowledge I have gained from the leaders that I worked with over the last 8 years. Many of those leaders have committed to helping as foundational volunteers on the team.
Communication channels will be open and active during the term. Ask me anything. If the answer is not in my knowledge base, I will find out for you.
I wanted to give you written permission to use me as a supporter of your campaign to be district director.
In fact I am in STRONG support of your campaign for district director, feeling you are the BEST person to lead the district back from the virus struggling year that is the current environment. It is always the best to retain leaders from year to year instead of having a possible totally new trio run the district, since the CGD will be new and now the PQD will also be new.
Robert O’Donnell, Past District 52 Governor
I find you will work well with whatever team is elected, will guide them as a team and not as a dictator but as head of a family of leaders of the district, something this district, and every district needs.
I look forward to a fun-filled and successful term with all of you getting the most out of Toastmasters.
