Don’t Talk to Strangers
From a post on Nextdoor
“PLEASE BE ALERT!!!!! this can be a scam, this is the third time that happens to me at the Costco in Northridge, after I finished my shopping, a fancy car approached me a man driving and a lady they asked me today for Where is Super King? or a silly close by address, they have telephones and a fancy car with GPS, I immediately got away from the car, and told them from far away, use your phone, they answered “it does not work”, but what about the car’s GPS?, and again this is the third time that happens to me in the same parking lot, I think they are up to something, be careful…”

“They did this to a friend of mine about a month ago. She tried to help, unaware that it was a scam. They then said they were from Dubai and that they had a beautiful bracelet they wanted to give her. Fortunately they did not get her diamond bracelet. Same Costco.”

“My friend’s dad lost his gold bracelet and a gold chain while trying to explain to similar people the fastest way to Costco from Jon’s supermarket parking lot in Reseda. They usually target seniors as they are more prone and vulnerable to such scams.”
